A drawing of three acupuncture needles being inserted into the human body.

Acupuncture & Dry Needling

Yes, they’re needles, but they’re tiny and much less poke-y than you might imagine! The diameter of a whisker, these sterile, single-use needles are inserted into acupuncture points throughout the body. You often don’t feel them at all, and if you do, it’s usually a mild sensation that passes in a second or two. Most patients can expect a treatment that uses 4-10 needles. Once they’re in, you get to rest while the treatment takes effect.

Initial intake: 90 minutes. We will have a detailed conversation about your health history and current concerns and then complete your first treatment

Follow up appointments: 60 minutes.

Herbal Medicine

Just like acupuncture, Chinese Herbal Medicine is a powerful tool for helping to address your health concerns. Used with acupuncture or alone, we will prescribe custom herbal formulas that help resolve the root cause of your issue. We go beyond symptoms and get to the root so that you can find effective and lasting relief.

Initial intake: 60 minutes. We will have a detailed conversation about your health history and current concerns, including a review of any medications, supplements, allergies, or sensitivities

Follow ups: 30-45 minutes to evaluate your progress with the herbal formula and to identify any adjustments

Additional Treatment Offerings

Depending on your concerns and treatment plan, your visit may also include:

Line drawing of three glass cupping therapy cups lined up on the surface of the skin.

Cupping

Using suction, we apply small cups to your body for 5-10 minutes at a time. This can help to alleviate pain and imbalances in specific part of the body, often focusing on large muscle groups like the back or hips

Gua Sha

You may have seen an influencer talking about Gua Sha for facial care - we use it in other places on the body as well. We’ll use a tool and pressure against the skin to promote blood flow that can help with healing and pain relief

Electro-stimulation

It’s acupuncture plus a little! With electro stimulation, or e-stim, we attach small electrodes to acupuncture needles and create a current for more prolonged acu point stimulation. You can feel it, but it doesn’t hurt – it creates a tapping sensation. This method is proven to enhance treatment benefits especially when treating pain or other issues caused by underlying deficiency

Moxibustion

Nourishing, relaxing, and warming, this is a highly targeted heat therapy technique where a small amount of mugwort, an herb also known as moxa, is burned above the skin. It creates a nice warming sensation that can help to heat the area and increase Qi and blood flow
